LIKE A GIRL GONE WILD :: The twenty-first in a series by resident Madonnaologist Philip Tetro in anticipation of the new album and tour!

The second-single off Madonna‘s much-anticipated new studio album, MDNA, is “Girl Gone Wild.”

The song premiered today at 12:00PM on Madonna’s official Vevo account, after only ever getting a 40-second snippet of the song almost a month ago.

The song is a club-banger like never-before. It begins with a prayer – an act of contrition reminiscent of the Like a Prayer album, 23 years ago. The strings in the introduction are also very similar to the intro to Madonna’s song “Sorry,” from the Confessions on a Dancefloor album in 2005.

Yes, that’s right. A song about prayer, going wild, and asking for forgiveness.

THE BITCH IS BACK.

Madonna wants “so badly to be good,” and what better way than by dancing? You tell us!
