THE WAIT IS OVER :: The 24th in a series by the world’s first-ever Madonnaologist, following Madonna‘s every move. Philip Tetro has finally heard the new Madonna album, a week before it’s release. What does he think?
A gay boy’s dream: he comes home from a 90-minute moksha yoga class, and he has emails of the new, leaked Madonna album.
What you’re expecting here is a track-by-track review of MDNA, Madonna’s first studio-album since 2008’s Hard Candy.
I will not be doing that.
It doesn’t feel right.
Don’t get me wrong: the album is amazing! Are some songs “growers?” Definitely. Did I cry upon hearing songs for the first time? Absolutely.
But, my experience is not complete yet.
I haven’t waited in line at the record store yet.
I haven’t smelled the booklet yet.
I haven’t seen the pictures inside.
I don’t even know what the disc looks like!
The music is one thing, but the experience is another, and it’s not fair to you to not give you my review based on having had the full MDNA experience. So, please wait until next week after I’ve held, smelled, absorbed and experienced the album in it’s entirety.
(For now, just know this: THE BITCH IS BACK.)
