EQUALLY MEANINGFUL :: Marriage equality may be progressing better than ever in the US, but a group of activists based in San Francisco are making a point about an institution holding back the institution: the dictionary.
In a statement, Hack Marriage (whose members wish to remain anonymous), say that since the meaning of the word has changed, general definitions of marriage as something between a man and a woman should change too. The group wrote in a statement that they “decided to speed things up by hacking the institution that literally provides meaning to our lives. We updated the meaning of marriage from ‘the union between a husband and wife’ to ‘the union between two people.”
